چکیده

A new technique is used to reduce the classic Hodgkin-Huxley model to a two-dimensional neuronal model which retains the essential features of the full description. The resulting equations are similar in spirit to those of the FitzHugh-Nagumo model, but they exhibit some essential diierences which provide a more accurate representation of the full dynamics. By further simplifying the two-dimensional model we derive linear and nonlinear integrate and re models and an interesting binary model with time-dependent threshold and hysteresis. All the parameters of these simpliied models are obtained through the reduction procedure from the underlying Hodgkin-Huxley equations. Thus, our methods establish direct connections between highly simpliied models of neuronal dynamics and more realistic descriptions in terms of time-and voltage-dependent conductances.

A new circuit model for the Parameters in equations of low power Hodgkin-Huxley neuron cell

In this paper, α and β parameters and gating variables equations of Hodgkin-Huxley neuron cell have been studied. Gating variables show opening and closing rate of ion flow of calcium and potassium in neuron cell. Variable functions α and β, are exponential functions in terms of u potential that have been obtained by Hodgkin and Huxley experimentally to adjust the equations of neural cells. In ...

Investigating Correlation Properties of Hodgkin- Huxley Model with Leaky Integrate–and-Fire Model

Behavioral study of linear model i.e. Integrate and fire model is compared with non-linear model i.e. Hodgkin-Huxley model. Both the models output are affected by Poisson inputs that are correlated positively. Responses of Integrate and fire model and Hodgkin-Huxley models differ in terms of correlated inputs. Linear Integrate and fire model is better for correlated inputs. Non-Linear model dis...

Population encoding with Hodgkin-Huxley neurons

The recovery of (weak) stimuli encoded with a population of Hodgkin-Huxley neurons is investigated. In the absence of a stimulus, the Hodgkin-Huxley neurons are assumed to be tonically spiking. The methodology employed calls for 1) finding an input-output (I/O) equivalent description of the Hodgkin-Huxley neuron and 2) devising a recovery algorithm for stimuli encoded with the I/O equivalent ne...

Sodium entry efficiency during action potentials: A novel single-parameter family of Hodgkin-Huxley models

Sodium entry during an action potential determines the energy efficiency of a neuron. The classic Hodgkin-Huxley model of action potential generation is notoriously inefficient in that regard with about 4 times more charges flowing through the membrane than the theoretical minimum required to achieve the observed depolarization. Yet, recent experimental results show that mammalian neurons are c...

Effects of ionic parameters on behavior of a skeletal muscle fiber model

All living cells have a membrane which separates inside the cell from it's outside. There is a potential difference between inside and outside of the cell. This potential difference will change during an action potential. It is quite common to peruse action potentials of skeletal muscle fibers with the Hodgkin-Huxley model. Since Hodgkin and Huxley summarized some controlling currents like inwa...
